Barbaresco hotel: It has a square plan with a side length of 9 metres and it is thirty-six metres high; up to the lower half the walls are three metres thick. It dates back to the 12th Century and it is mentioned in documents of the 13th Century. At present, it is almost isolated and surrounded by a few ruins, but in the past it was a part of a defensive complex provided with a castle and enclosing walls.
The Barbaresco tower is a vestige of the medieval conflicts between Alba and Asti, most of its history is shrouded in mystery, and a legend tells us that the inhabitants of this small village made a huge bonfire on the top of the tower to celebrate the return of the King Vittorio Emanuele I and his wife Maria Teresa to their castle in Govone after the Restoration.
